PowerPower is one of Mileena's main motivators and a major theme for her character. She is frequently seen seeking to claim it or reclaim it from others. She sees herself as the true heir to Shao Kahn's throne, and the rightful ruler of Outworld after his death, but she is greatly disliked as a ruler because she is cruel, unpredictable, and refuses to listen to the advice of others. Mileena thinks that power grants her the right to do as she pleases, which is evident by the way she acts when she has the throne, refusing to listen to her council and acting impulsively. Her rule is described as turbulent, and it was outright stated that people did not approve of her as empress. Being Kahnum of Outworld also grants her a position of respect and elevates her, placing her above others. She's no longer a repulsive, failed experiment but someone of importance. Someone who
should be respected. Alas, she has no interest in working for the good of Outworld and actively puts the realm at risk by refusing to ally with Earthrealm because she's enraged over Earthrealm's role in Shao Kahn's demise. In the original timeline, Mileena is also frequently seen trying to gain power. She is a clone, created to serve as a spy and a weapon, but she craves more than this and truly believes herself to be entitled to the throne. Most of her game endings involve her murdering Kitana and usurping the throne, or locking Kitana away and taking her place. In the MK 9/MK X timeline, this hasn't changed as her entire story still involves her trying to reclaim the power that she believes is rightfully hers.

FamilyDespite Mileena's brutal, violent nature, we can see that she desires family almost as much as she craves power. In MK9’s story mode, when Mileena wakes up for the first time, she addresses Kitana as her sister. She’s immediately rejected by Kitana but continues to refer to her as her sister and, despite her violent and unpredictable nature, wants Kitana to accept her. In her Mortal Kombat 11 ending, Mileena explicitly states that she wants to be accepted as family by Kitana, but she also points out that Kitana still views her as a monstrosity. She knows Kitana will never accept her. Mileena still dreams of acceptance but her Tarkatan blood and her vicious temperament alienate her from others. That vicious temperament is worsened by Kitana's constant rejection and outright disgust for her clone.
Mileena sees Shao Kahn as her father and is shown to be loyal to him, wanting to honor him and his rule after her death. She sees his death at the hands of Earthrealm as unforgivable and unacceptable, even refusing to ally with the humans against a greater threat. It’s clear that she cares about and respects Kahn, and her insistence that he is her father when criticized shows that she wants inclusion and acceptance despite being a creature born from magic. Unfortunately, she is made to prove that she is worthy of that love. For example, during one of Shao Kahn and Mileena's pre-fight dialogues, she is told to prove herself when she comes to reclaim her place by his side. The one person who sees her as something other than a clone requires her to be competitive to remain on his good side, and this is yet another reason for her cunning and viciousness. She is forever fighting to prove her worth and to prove that she isn't just some failed experiment.

LoveSurprisingly, Mileena is capable of love, and this is most evident during her character ending in Mortal Kombat 11. It is apparent in the games that Mileena loves Tanya, because of Mileena's MK11 tower ending, the trust she places in her during MKX, and her desire to find out what happened to her in Mortal Kombat 11. Her (non-canon) ending in MK11 shows Mileena and Tanya as a couple, with Mileena cradling a baby in her arms, and the two of them gazing adorably at their child. She speaks proudly of how her daughter regards her with awe and wonder, unlike Kitana. She also mentions that the child sees her as perfection instead of an abomination, implying that she feels negatively about how people react to her appearance. She is also hellbent on finding out what happened to Tanya during the events of Mortal Kombat 11, which shows that she
can care if someone shows her enough respect and kindness. She wants people to look at her the way that child does. Interestingly, in her Mortal Kombat 11 ending, she also mentions that all of Kitana's friends cherish her, which strongly implies that she wants to be accepted by them too. Love is something that seems out of reach for someone like Mileena, who is often regarded as a monster. She sees Kitana receiving love -- familial, romantic, platonic -- and she craves that for herself, knowing it's something she can't have without posing as Kitana or manipulating time so Kitana doesn't exist at all. She wants Kitana's love, but Kitana is forever rejecting her, so Mileena gives up. Kitana isn't exactly wrong in rejecting her clone: Mileena is a feral, wrathful, violent, cannibalistic, and unpredictable woman who is often
terrifying. But Mileena, despite her less savory traits, still would love nothing more than to feel accepted.

TrustMileena struggles to trust Earthrealm after the death of Shao Kahn, and her trust in other people is shattered after she is betrayed and her throne is usurped by Kotal Kahn in MKX. Trust is easily broken in Mileena's world, and alliances are thrown away as quickly as they are formed. Mileena sees and experiences betrayal from seemingly close allies, and even her "father" seems willing to cast her aside if she doesn't live up to his expectations. In MKX, Rain plans to betray Mileena by convincing her to use Shinnok's magical amulet against Kotal. The amulet weakens Mileena each time she uses it, and if said amulet kills Kotal and weakens her enough,
he can usurp the throne. Mileena has little reason to trust anyone wholeheartedly, and she likely sees alliances as shallow and easily broken, due to what she has seen personally. That said, Mileena does appear to trust Tanya more than anyone else. This is unfortunate because it's heavily implied by Rain in MK11 that Tanya was scheming against her. Unfortunately for Mileena, everyone she loves seems to turn against her, and it would seem Tanya was using her for her gain. Again, it is difficult to trust others in a place like Outworld, so it makes sense for Mileena to act guarded.

MonstersMileena sees herself as a monster, and other characters like to remind her of this, reacting with repulsion. Mileena is a half-Tarkatan clone, created by Shang Tsung in his flesh pits, and she was intended to look
exactly like Princess Kitana. However, something went wrong during her creation, and Mileena developed with Tarkatan features. She has a large mouth with a long row of fangs, like a Tarkatan's, and has orange, feline-like eyes. She is viewed as repulsive but is often quick to respond with a playful retort or a threat... depending on her mood. In MKX, Kitana calls Mileena a perversion and tells her that she is unfit to live, which would undoubtedly feed Mileena's belief that she is a monster, and Mileena frequently fights back against Kitana's words, stating that she's Outworld's empress and that Shao Kahn doesn't see her as a perversion. This desire to elevate herself and prove Kitana wrong strongly implies that Mileena
is bothered by the way people treat her, but she tries to hide it with those playful retorts. She teases people who appear afraid of her, and sometimes she does seem to enjoy acting monstrous, despite her desire for acceptance and belonging.
Roommates?: For now, I'd like Mileena to be alone. She's too feral and dangerous to share a room with someone and needs to be isolated. This may change later.
Triggers/sensitive topics you'd like to avoid?: Needles, severe eye gore, nail/tooth removal
